The Springfield XDS courtesy of Springfield Armory is one of our favorites and in our opinion, one of the best concealed carry guns to own. which has prompted this review of the Best Sights For Springfield XDS.
The Springfield XDS as already highlighted is top of the range. In this section, we review the best Springfield XDS sights on Amazon.
These lasers can be used on the shooting range or in hunting for some. Given this, one would also be concerned with additional weight from these lasers on the gun. Below are some options worth looking into and investing in.
1. Crimson Trace Rail Master Mount Laser
Highlights– The Springfield XDS comes with a universal accessory from Crimson Trace. It is compact, mounting to the accessory rail, earlier mentioned, under the barrel, and has an attachment to the trigger guard in the rear.
The design is ergonomic and is turned on by simple touch activation. The red beam emitted is a Class ⅠⅠⅠR<5mw power output.
The battery offers four hours of constant power when on and automatically shuts off when inactive
Performance- As far as compactness goes in this Springfield XDS Laser Combo; the Crimson Trace Rail Master Universal Mount Laser is perfect. A compact CCW with its compact laser.
It carries less weight than the other lasers as it does not add on the trigger guard. Due to its small size, caution should be taken to treat it with care. It is best used during nighttime.
This is one of the cheapest sights available.
Versatile enough to be detached and installed on other CCWs
Highlights– Although popular, this laser is made for specific weapons. It is great for a Springfield XDS Laser combo as when designed for the XDS it attaches over the gun’s trigger guard.
Its ECR on functionality allows the laser to be turned on automatically when drawn or off by holstering the Springfield XDS in the specifically designed holster, which is included.
This laser is also a Class ⅠⅠⅠR power output laser. The battery provides 12 hours of continuous use with a low battery indicator accompanying the laser.
Performance – Given the ECR technology, this is very convenient as the laser comes with automatic on and off capabilities without touch. The red laser beam which is powered up to a mile at night is great.
This Springfield XDS laser combo works well for the price of the Viridian; you get a great laser with an additional holster for the ECR functionality.
3. LaserTac Rechargeable Subcompact Green Laser Sight
Highlights –This Springfield XDS laser comes with a combo of green light and flashlight. Its attachment is via the accessory rail and clipping the rear of the laser to the trigger guard.
It allows ambidextrous switching on or off and toggling between using just the green laser, flashlight only, and both simultaneously.
The green laser beam is highly visible during the day and is its greatest strength.
This Springfield XDS laser comes with two rechargeable batteries and a year’s worth warranty.
Performance – This is a great Springfield XDS laser combo as it allows for a laser and flashlight. This makes sense as the laser’s strength is during the day and compensates for its weakness at night with the flashlight.
However, it is heavier and difficult to find an accommodating holster. The rechargeable batteries definitely save on costs.
Great flashlight and laser combo
This combination allows for use during both times of day
The front sight on the XDS can be mounted and removed but it is not adjustable. The rear sight, however, can be minutely adjusted. Although it does not naturally come with adjustable sights, you can get an adjustable set of sights.
You can adjust these to best fit your vision. Once the front and the rear are lined up, aiming will be easy.
Remember that only the tactical and competition series has the adjustable rear. Being a beginner, there’s a need to practice before getting the hang of the XDS.
How to change/adjust Springfield XDS Sights?
You can slightly adjust the rear sight but that’s about all. You can try changing the grip of the pistol to something that you’re comfortable with. Besides this, there’s a limited scope of adjustments.
What is the difference between a Springfield XDM and XDS?
The XDM is a match-grade firearm whereas the XDS is for people looking for a single stack solution.
You can easily be confused between the two models given their similarities. But once you look past them, you will see how different they are.
The Springfield XDS and XDM are both solid options for CCW weapons. Both these guns will give you a brilliant experience, but it is important to check the specifications. Based on your requirements, it will be best to pick the right gun for you. Don’t rely on hearsay to purchase a weapon, stick to the facts and you won’t regret it later.
The Springfield XDM:
The M in XDM stands for “match-grade” since it features a match-grade barrel. The Mod2 series comes with a modified takedown mechanism. It eliminates the need to pull the trigger and release the sear. This is a rather important aspect when safety is your priority.
Other than that, the XDM model comes with a 3.8-inch barrel and weighs 28 ounces. As for the sights, you get standard fiber-optic front sight paired with a white dot rear sight.
What we like about the Springfield XDM is its availability in two models. One with a shortened grip and the other with a full-sized barrel. You can choose either of these models as per your preference.
The Springfield XDS (3.3):
Easy to carry, concealable, and powerful. That’s a summary of the XD-S, one of Springfield’s most popular CCW.
It features a 3.3-inch barrel and its dimensions are 6.3×4.4×0.9 inches. With an empty magazine, it weighs 23 ounces. You get two options, the 40ACP, and the 45ACP. Funnily enough, the 45ACP model is lighter than the former.
The XDS series features fewer bullets in the magazine than the XDM series. This can be a huge difference for people on a budget. You can get the base XDS model for just $499.
Over the years, the manufacturer has come up with the XDS Mod2. The major differences in the two models are changes to the slide and the inclusion of swappable backstrap panels. These have contributed to reducing the CCW’s overall weight.
As we have seen, there are so many Springfield XDS sights on the market. Each with its own unique selling points.
From this Springfield XDS laser light combo review, the Crimson Trace Springfield Armory XDS Laser Guard seems to stand out on top.
The viridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5is ideal at night when its ECR technology becomes quite convenient for drawing and switching on during late hours.
The Crimson Trace Rail Master Mount Laser is also a great pick for a good Springfield XDS combo, being already popular amongst CCWs owners. It is cheap, small enough to find an accompanying holster, has a crisp red laser for nighttime use, and compact for carrying; a safe bet indeed!
So that’s it for our list of the best Springfield XDS sights, happy hunting!
